Today, Partha and I are excited to share that Kenzo Security has been acquired by Rapid7, a global leader in AI-powered managed cybersecurity operations.
This marks an important step forward for our team, our customers, and the future of security operations. We are especially grateful to the team, customers, partners, and investors who believed in this vision early and helped shape what Kenzo has become.
Why We Built Kenzo
When we started Kenzo over two years ago, we saw a clear shift underway.
The volume of security signals was growing rapidly. Environments were becoming more complex across endpoint, identity, cloud, SaaS, and third-party systems. At the same time, the traditional model, where humans investigate every alert, was falling behind.
We believed security operations needed a fundamentally different approach.
Backed by The General Partnership and cybersecurity leaders, including former Mozilla and Twitter CISO Michael Coates, we built Kenzo as a data-first, agentic security platform designed to operate at machine speed.
At the core of Kenzo is a system of specialized AI agents working across a unified data layer. These agents continuously analyze signals, connect context across the environment, and drive investigations to completion in real time.
The result is a shift in how security operations run. Systems operate at machine speed, with consistency and scale built in by design.
Why Rapid7
From early conversations, it was clear that Rapid7 saw the same future.
They share a deep belief that AI will transform how security operations work, and that a data-centric approach is the best path to drive excellent customer outcomes. Plus, they’ve built a global platform and managed detection and response (MDR) business that already helps organizations operate at scale.
By joining Rapid7, we can take what we’ve built at Kenzo and bring it to a much broader set of organizations and extend our capabilities even further.
What This Means for Customers
By integrating Kenzo’s data mesh with Rapid7’s Command Platform and embedding Kenzo’s proprietary AI models across MDR operations, organizations will benefit from:
Full coverage at machine speed: AI-led workflows automatically investigate and correlate alerts at machine speed, compressing time to detection and response.
Scalable, dynamic investigations: The platform seamlessly ingests, triages, and investigates new and evolving threats while correlating activity across endpoint, identity, cloud, SaaS, and third-party data to uncover anomalies without additional human effort.
100% decision transparency: As workloads shift to AI agents, predictable results and auditable decisions are essential to build trust and confidence in autonomous processes.
Analysts decide, AI agents do: Designed to be configurable and adaptable, analysts determine the key points where human decisions are important to their processes, while everything else can run seamlessly.
Continuous exposure management: Agentic workflows continuously identify and prioritize exposures across endpoint, identity, cloud, and SaaS environments, connecting risk signals to active threats to accelerate remediation and reduce attack surface.
What Comes Next
Our vision for AI-powered cybersecurity is in lockstep with Rapid7’s data-centric approach. Our integrated models will act as a continuous engine that improves outcomes in real time, while the reach of Rapid7’s global customer base will accelerate the accuracy and effectiveness of Kenzo’s technology. We are excited about the results that we will deliver together.
To everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you. We are proud of what has been built and even more energized for what comes next.
